The test setup is require for Short Time Over current Test, Fault Current Making Capacity Test and Short Circuit current Carrying Capacity test on Prepaid Energy Meter as per IS 15884
The test setup will be suitable to carry out the following tests as per IS 15884 on single phase and three phase meters. Three phase meters will be tested phase wise. a. Short Time Over Current Test b. Fault current making capacity c. Short Circuit Current Carrying capacity d. Endurance Test
There will be three modules namely: a. Transformer with taps b. Control Console: This will house computer, Monitor & interface Module for Datalogging. c. Load Bank : 1. Resistive Load Bank 2. Inductive Load Bank

Suitable Resistive and Inductive load bank will be provided to achive the Test current 6kA at the power factor from 0.6 to 0.9.
Transformer will be capable of supplying up to 6000A for 10mSec.
Display will be provided for indication and measurement of voltage, current, PF, Frequency.
Controller to set the current, select the current range, set the no of operations and count the no. of operations.
Fuse protection and over current protection with MCCB for primary circuit, provision for emergency switch off button will be provided.
Suitable terminals will be provided to STOC unit for easy connection with the voltage and current terminals with energy meter.
Operating temp 5°C to 40°C.

The test bench is designed to conduct short circuit tests. The test is different from a conventional short time over current test in the sense that the tests are conducted at rated voltage and they are: 1. Short Time Over Current Test 2. Fault current making capacity 3. Short Circuit Current Carrying capacity 4. Endurance Test.All the tests appear in IS 15884 and are now mandatory for energy meters
