Permanent Magnetic Relay (PMR) Calibration & Test System for Residual Current Operated Breakers (RCCBs)

This Test Bench is designed to perform HV and routine tests of RCCB/ RCBO. Also the PMR in RCCB is calibrated before performing routine Tests. Two separate fixtures to perform HV and routine tests independently. Interlock is provided before routine test to check whether HV test for product perform under test is done or not through either serial no or through HV punch (scanned through camera placed in fixture)

mag-demag

To calibrate PMR a DC voltage source is used to magnetize / demagnetize using magnetic coil

  • HV Tests
    • HV across Poles (RCCB Off)
    • HV between adjacent Poles (RCCB On)
    • HV Between Poles and Body(RCCB On)
  • Mechanical Endurance Test
  • Neutral Advance Test
  • Calibration Of RCCB
  • Routine Tests
    • No trip(0.5xIdn) -Trip Test(Idn)
    • Sensitivity Test (Ramp Up from 0.3xIdn to Idn)
    • Speed of Operation Test (3xIdn) and (5xIdn)
    • Push Button Test (facility to test @ 2 different Voltages)

Detailed Test Description:

HV Test (Flashing Test) : In HV test, high Voltage will be applied to Product Under Test in various combinations and Failure is checked

Mechanical Endurance Test : Product Made On /Off For Set no of Cycles and Contacts checked for make and break

Neutral Advance Test : Delay between Poles and Neutral contact is checked during making and breaking. High Speed ADC used for time measurement

Calibration Of RCCB : This will calibrate PMR(permanent Magnet Relay) of finished product. The PMR is fully magnetized to achieve trip current more that Idn and then demagnetized step by step to trip in calibration band. Only 1 pole is calibrated and then verified for all poles. If all poles are OK then product will be declared as Calibrated

No trip /Trip Test : For No Trip Test 0.5 Idn current passed through each pole for 100 mSec and if Tripped then declared as ‘Fail’ else ‘Pass’. For Trip Test current equal to Idn is passed for 100 mSec if product tripped it is ‘Pass’ else ‘Fail’. Trip time measured and displayed in mSec

Sensitivity Test : Current from 0.3Idn to Idn increased gradually and trip current checked for sensitivity band. This test give exact reading where product start tripping

Speed Of operation : This Test is provided to measure Trip Time of RCCB at different test Current(programmable) provision given to test at 3xIdn and 5xIdn

Push Button Test : This is test is performed to check operation of Test Button on RCCB. Voltage is applied to input side of RCCB with product in on Condition then Test button pressed with the help of pneumatic operated fixture and tripping of product is checked. This will be repeated for set no of cycles. These tests can be performed at two different voltages (Low Voltage and rated voltage) . Voltage will be adjusted with the Help Of dimmer
