The above test can be customized with respect to the test voltage (kV), leakage current measurement (mA), test time, etc. In addition, the test sequence with respect to the terminals of Single pole Single throw switch as well as Single pole Double throw switch on to which dielectric voltage is applied can be pre-programmed.
In addition, there is a continuity test module which helps in checking the conformance of the switch in closed condition to ensure complete reliability of the switch w r t operation and safety before being shipped out for sale.
The system essentially consists of a fixed ac hv source, a leakage current measurement and display module, a PLC module for controlling the on-off sequence and handling of the fixture (the entire sequence can be designed as per the customer’s will, a measurement system to measure the leakage current and applied voltage (voltage is displayed on a voltmeter). The easy-to-use user interface is easy to operate even for a skilled operator on an assembly line.
Since most of the switch manufacturers have different mechanical switch designs, our fixture design team realizes the fixture in such a way that the endurance testing is carried out perfectly without subjecting the switch under test to undue mechanical stresses, thus without damaging the switch under test. Also, the fixture is designed so as to accommodate both switches in their respective testing cycles: Thus the customer is offered an optimized design (without the use of multiple fixtures) to test a variety of switches, both one way and two-way.
A unique feature of the system is the diagnostic test module which tests the pneumatic operation in manual mode helping in periodic checking and debugging of the test system. This feature helps in trial and error runs especially when the system is being tried upon in a new switch which has undergone slight alterations w r t the design.
