SCR Elektroniks make Millivolt Drop Tester is a state of an art instrument in the sense that the current source does not contain the usual auto transformer and variac but a meticulously designed solid state constant current source with a line and load regulation closer to 0.2%. Not only does this arrangement improve the measuring accuracy and reduce the internal active power losses in this instrument but also it makes the instrument lighter and smaller making it an ideal portable instrument for field testing for clients such as L&T, Siemens, Schneider, HYT Engineering, Havells, C&S, UL and so on.

Millivolt Drop Tester – Manual (MVDT-M) primarily consists of a DC Constant Current Source, Digital Ammeter and a Digital Millivolt Meter with 3 ranges. This equipment is also available in auto version. The automatic operation is sophisticated in the sense that it is different than the manual tester in the following way:

In Manual Model the current can be set with 10 turn pot meter. The current is displayed on Digital Ammeter. A separate Digital millivolt meter is provided to read millivolt drop. There are three ranges for mV measurement selectable through switch.

In Automatic model the current is set through key pad provided. The current is adjusted automatically to set value. When the test is started after adjustment of current millivolt reading is captured and displayed on the same display. One can set the lower and upper limits of millivolt drop to set the limit. The mV meter is auto ranging type. The readings are stored in the memory and can be downloaded to PC for record
