5 STATION BIMETAL OVERLOAD RELAY TEST BENCH

The bench is mainly to be utilized for the production testing of bimetal overload relays used to break current using an overload current operated bimetal device, typically for motors and pumps.

The bench is mainly to be utilized for the production testing of bimetal overload relays used to break current using an overload current operated bimetal device, typically for motors and pumps. The circuit employs a typically designed servo controlled current source which pumps the required current at a convenient low voltage.

The bench is customizable for 5, 6, 12 and 24 stations as per the customer requirement. The bench is inbuilt with an ac current source ideally optimized for a huge current range: 1 – 50 A and thus a wide range of relays can be tested. The current measurement is of class 1 and is implemented using a multi tapped CT ensuring accuracy for the entire range.

The system comes inbuilt with as many pneumatic fixtures as the number of stations, one each to hold one relay. Each station employs an inbuilt digital timer to indicate the trip time.

A 2.55 times the rated current is made to pass to the relays to be tested. If one of the relay is tripped, then it is bypassed using a critically designed bypass arrangement, thus ensuring current continuity in rest of the relays. The test goes on until the last relay is tripped.
