MAGNETIC COILS
FOR ABNORMAL MAGNETIC INDUCTION.
Testing Jig For Abnormal Magnetic Field DC 0.2 Tesla as per Clause
No. 5.6.2.3 :
The continuous (d.c.) "abnormal" magnetic induction
of 0.2 Tesla +/- 5% shall be obtained at a distance of 5mm from
the Surface of the pole of the electromagnet according to Appendix-F.
energised with a d.c. current. The magnetic field should be applied
successively the to all the surfaces of the meter. The value of
the magneto motive force to be applied shall be generally 10,000
amp-turns. However, considering the non linearity of the magnetisation
of the core, the amp-turns might require slight adjustment to
achieve the desired out- put.
Test Jig For Abnormal Magnetic Field AC 10milli Tesla as per
Clause No. 5.6.2.4 :
The alternating (a.c) magnetic induction of 10 milli tesla shall
be obtained by placing the meter at various orientation in the
centre of a circular coil as specified in clause 5.6.2.2 but with
2800 amp-turns, produced by a current of a same frequency as that
of the voltage applied to the meter and under the most unfavorable
conditions of phase & direction.
Testing Jig for Abnormal Magnetic Field AC 0.2 Tesla as per Clause
No. 5.6.2.5 :
The abnormal (a.c.) magnetic induction emanating from a circular
air-cored coil (O.D.: 150mm. ID : 38mm Depth: 50mm, 14 swg. 25,000
amp-turns) producing 0.2 Tesla +/- 5% in the central region of
its either surface, shall be applied successively to all the surfaces
of the meter and under the most unfavorable conditions of phase
and direction, to determine any abnormality under its influence.
